Our history

PROMETAL Steelworks is a company incorporated under Cameroonian law, established in 2010. A steel and metallurgy industry equipped with the latest global technology in the sector in Sub-Saharan Africa, it organises its operations across 5 operational sites, several storage sites, 6 steel product lines and over 300 products, with approximately 2,000 employees and nearly 300 suppliers and service providers.

Since 2010, we have demonstrated our commitment to industrial development and the empowerment of our economy, as set out in the “SND 30”.

Our quality policy

At PROMETAL Steelworks, we have chosen to place quality at the heart of our business, supplying the market with products certified to local and international standards. Meeting the needs and expectations of our customers and other relevant stakeholders is our purpose.

Consequently, our Quality Management System, compliant with the ISO 9001 standard, has been certified since February 2014.

Our management vision is summarised in five fundamental commitments that define how our system operates:

  • Communicating with customers and our partners to foster collaborative partnerships,
  • Apply current regulations to our products, services, and operations to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction,
  • Increase staff engagement and support their professional development,
  • meet customer needs and increase customer satisfaction by listening to them,
  • Continuously improve our QMS, as well as our productivity and profitability, in order to remain at the forefront of our industry,

Our quality policy is therefore an integral part of our overall strategy. It is broken down into specific objectives for each process and is continuously monitored to ensure its effectiveness. Thus, both individually and collectively, we are all responsible for the success of this policy.

Everyone’s involvement is the only guarantee of our system’s sustainability. As for management, we are committed to providing the resources necessary for the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System.
