The PROMETAL Student is much more than just a scholarship recipient. This program, initiated more than 7 years ago at PROMETAL, is a symbol of meritocracy, academic excellence, and civic engagement.
Its main objective is to offer students from underprivileged families a better future by enabling them to pursue quality education and ensuring guaranteed professional integration.
The PROMETAL Student represents:
1. A Long-Term Vision
PROMETAL aims to :
- Ensure the sustainability of its activities by integrating, each year, young, dynamic, and committed talents who will contribute to the company’s growth and continuity.
- Contribute to the national effort against poverty and social determinism by helping disadvantaged families enroll their children in the best schools without worrying about tuition fees, academic or professional internships, or even job placement.
2. An Exceptional Student
- Each year, PROMETAL selects one of the top students in the scientific baccalaureate from Lycée d’Oyack (a public school located near PROMETAL’s facilities in Douala). The selection is based on academic merit, as well as the socioeconomic situation of the parents.
- The goal of the program is to finance the training of competent and committed engineers from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring them a better future.
3- Fully Supported Academic Journey
- The PROMETAL Student freely chooses a university or higher education institution in Cameroon based on their career aspirations and aligned with the company’s needs.
- PROMETAL finances the entirety of their higher education for 5 years, until the engineering degree is obtained.
- The student completes academic and professional internships within PROMETAL’s factories, fostering real immersion in the professional and industrial environment.
4. Guaranteed Professional Integration
- Once graduated, the student is immediately hired by the company as a manager.
- They join the management team in technical positions, actively contributing to PROMETAL’s development.
