Born in Mbandjock and having moved to Douala as a teenager, Marie Paulette NGO BOUM – known as ‘MP’ to her friends – obtained her G1 Baccalaureate in 1997, followed by a Higher Technical Certificate in Sales. With a passion for management and figures, she rounded off her academic career with several vocational qualifications, including BP1 and BP2. This led to her joining PROMETAL Steelworks on 1 April 2011 as Reception Assistant and Assistant to the Communications Director.
But her ever-growing passion for numbers sparked her curiosity and led her to complete her BP3 qualification in 2012. Two years later, in 2014, she joined the Local Purchasing and Procurement Department (SAAL) as an Assistant, before being promoted to Manager in 2016.
Since then, Marie Paulette has fully embraced her responsibilities: overseeing purchasing and procurement against a backdrop of ongoing investment and diverse requests from the Group’s various sites. Under the supervision of the Deputy Managing Director, and with the support of the Quality Department, she has implemented structured procedures that ensure reliable interactions with suppliers and the effectiveness and efficiency of local procurement.
Since then, Marie Paulette has fully embraced her role. Today, as a mother and a woman of faith, she combines professional discipline with a confident femininity.
As the longest-serving member of the PROMETAL team, Marie Paulette continues to leave a lasting impression. Her unusual career path serves as a reminder of a fundamental truth: at PROMETAL, steel is also forged by exceptional women.
